How Finish in Four can change your financial aid package
The examples below show how the Finish in Four Scholarship can help close the gap between financial aid and the total cost of attendance.
Example 1: Student with financial aid but a remaining gap
| Cost category | Amount |
|---|---|
| Estimated cost of attendance | $38,492 |
| Pell Grant | $7,395 |
| Oregon Opportunity Grant | $7,800 |
| Finley Scholarship | $3,000 |
| Need award | $2,975 |
| Initial remaining amount | $17,322 |
| Finish in Four Scholarship | $4,330.50 |
| Remaining amount for student to cover | $12,991.50 |
What this means: In this example, Finish in Four adds $4,330.50 in scholarship support, reducing the student's remaining cost from $17,322 to $12,991.50.
Example 2: Student with additional scholarship support
| Cost category | Amount |
|---|---|
| Estimated cost of attendance | $38,492 |
| Pell Grant | $7,395 |
| Oregon Opportunity Grant | $7,800 |
| Finley Scholarship | $3,000 |
| Need award | $2,975 |
| Other scholarships | $3,000 |
| Initial remaining amount | $14,322 |
| Finish in Four Scholarship | $3,580.50 |
| Remaining amount for student to cover | $10,741.50 |
What this means: In this example, because the student already has additional scholarship support, the Finish in Four amount is lower at $3,580.50. The remaining amount for the student to cover also is lowered to $10,741.50.
These examples illustrate how Finish in Four helps reduce financial gaps and limit the amount students need to borrow.
*note students can use student loans and work-study to help cover the gap. Reach out to the Scholarship Office for more information on how to help cover the gap.
