Supporting Students who have Financial Need

Some Oregon State scholarships are only available to students who have demonstrated financial need. OSU determines whether a student is eligible to be considered for those opportunities based on their FAFSA or ORSAA. Encourage students to submit their FAFSA or ORSAA as soon as possible after October 1st every year to maximize the number of scholarships for which they will be considered.

National and Global Scholarship Opportunities

Oregon State encourages students to apply for highly-selective national and global scholarships – such as the Fulbright, Rhodes, Marshall, and Goldwater – which support undergraduate and postgraduate study and research. Candidates are reviewed based on their academic qualifications, research, leadership, service, and personal characteristics. The National and Global Scholarships Advising website includes tips and links for students and faculty advisors interested in preparing scholarship applications, a list of the scholarship programs that require that applicants be endorsed by a designee at the university, contact information for the designee, application materials, and deadlines. Faculty and staff are encouraged to invite students to contact National and Global Scholarships Advising to request a one-on-one meeting with an advisor to explore scholarship opportunities that fit their goals and interests.
